M + W
Meet Monique + William! The wording they chose for our George + Willy letter board sign at the venue said: “We waited a year for this. Party accordingly.” And party they did! M + W got to share + celebrate the sweetness of their marriage with all of their friends + family this past fall! We were so grateful to be a part of it!
Here’s their story – “We met in 2016 at my apartment’s rooftop terrace. It was July 4th weekend and my roommate and I went up there to enjoy a drink and see if we could spot any fireworks. Will and his friend, who also lived in our apartment complex, were up there as well and started chatting us up. Will and I dated from that day on and 9 months into our relationship I was relocated to Washington, DC for my job. In 2018 I was relocated again to LA. In April 2019, we got engaged. Then in March 2020 my boss told me to fly back to Dallas to spend “two weeks” with Will during the shut down. As we all know, those two weeks never ended and I’ve been here ever since working remotely. In October 2020, we decided to have a court wedding with just the two of us. Our big family wedding at the Emerson was on our 1 year anniversary in October 2021.”
We will forever be grateful when couples choose to spend such a special day in their lives with us! We love hearing what drew them to us – “We loved the minimal aesthetic of the place and how you could make it into whatever you wanted. Another plus was having everything in one location, but what really sold us on the place was the owners and customer service. Everything from a virtual FaceTime tour when I was still living in LA, to helping us through the pandemic reschedule, to just being so helpful and understanding throughout the whole process – we loved every aspect of The Emerson!”
“We had a lot of memorable moments, the first just being able to see all our loved ones together after nearly 2 years of not seeing our out-of-town family or friends. We made it a point to thank everyone publically at dinner and express our love and gratitude for them. A lot of our friend’s favorite moments was learning how to polka on the dance floor! It’s a cultural tradition in my family and everyone had so much fun doing it.”
M’s advice to all who are currently planning – “Do whatever you want to do on your day! There’s no right or wrong way to get married! Don’t feel obligated to do anything you don’t like and speak up for yourself. Also, take your time in finding great vendors to work with as they can make or break your experience. We are so lucky to have found The Emerson Venue and can’t recommend it highly enough!” Investing in vendors that you love + trust is so important! From the venue-side of things, we believe that wedding days go so much smoother when you have a strong vendor team on your side to execute all the details for you!
Congratulations again M + W! Your wedding day was absolutely worth the wait! We are so thankful that we got to be a part of celebrating your love alongside so many great vendors + sweet family members! Check out the whole vendor team below!
