Meet Erica + Ryan! Two of the kindest people we have ever met. Their wedding was filled with the most beautiful details, intentional moments, joyful squeals, and they even had a champagne tower! Celebrating them was so fun and just came so easy!
Here’s their story – “Ryan and I grew up going to the same schools, but it wasn’t until 9th grade that we met and became friends. On the very first day of our English class we were assigned seats organized by last name – Sheppard & Shin. The following year we had English together again, but this time we intentionally sat by each other. Everyday I looked forward to seeing Ryan. We goofed around and laughed so hard. Our friendship was effortless. Near the end of the school year, Ryan asked if I was home, swung by, and told me that he found out I had a crush on him and that he felt the same way! That afternoon was the kind of moment you daydream of as a 15 year old. We dated throughout high school and at graduation we promised we’d make it through college together. Little did we know how tough long distance dating was going to be and we broke it off for 3 years. The summer before senior year, my phone dinged with a text from Ryan. At this point we were practically strangers, so out of touch from each other’s lives. That text pulled both of us back in. We never stopped loving each other, thinking about each other, wondering if we could make it work again. Another 3 years of dating and we’ve only gotten stronger as a couple. We knew we were endgame.”
“I never realized how much it meant to me to be married in a chapel until I started touring venues. The element of marriage sanctity in God’s house felt so right to me once I saw The Emerson’s chapel (it definitely helped that the chapel’s design is breathtaking). The rest of the venue fell perfectly in theme – minimalistic, modern, bright. Lastly, I loved the idea of dancing under the stars so the outdoor patio space was perfect. The Emerson truly stood out for all the right reasons.”
E + R’s wedding day truly held so many magical moments – we were eager to hear about which ones stuck out the most to the bride and groom – “Being surrounded by your loved ones is truly such a great feeling. All the people there care so deeply about you and want to be there for you. However, I think my favorite moments of the day were when it was just the two of us – feeling excitedly anxious at our first touch and so giddy as we were the last ones to leave the venue, running to our car in the pouring rain.”
Here’s E’s advice to all those who are planning now – “Planning can get so stressful. Remember to take a deep breath and recenter on the reason why you’re doing this – you’re getting married to the love of your life and celebrating this moment with all your favorite people! When you remember the reason, everything else seems so small. Enjoy this season, teeming with excitement and love.”
