Elvis is in the Building Styled Shoot

Ahhh!!! This styled shoot inspired by Elvis Presley reminded us again why we love getting the privilege to host styled shoots in our space! It was such an honor getting to witness this team of talented vendors partner together to execute this colorful, fun vision! We truly could not be more obsessed with the outcome! We got to chat with the planner of the shoot, Rachel from Honey & Co. to hear more about the inspiration + execution of all the details!

The inspiration for the shoot: “I would say there were two main inspirations. The first would be Hannah with Vim and Venture. She approached me wanting to collab and basically said "do whatever you want but I want to make some sort of watercolor acrylic piece" and I said "I gotchu". The second would be Elvis Presley. Okay so I do not want to sound obsessed...but I loved the new Elvis Presely movie (directed by Baz Luhrmann). I saw it at least four times in the theater. I especially loved the soundtrack of the film - how they took old classic songs and gave them a modern flare. The soundtrack and costume design of the movie played a huge role in the inspiration for this styled shoot. I wanted to creatively find a way I could take classic and timeless elements, but give them a modern flare while also sprinkling in a little bit of funk and rock n roll. There are little tidbits of Elvis incorporated into the shoot - some are very obvious and some you'd really need to know your Elvis trivia!”

What drew you to choosing The Emerson for your styled shoot? “Oh gosh - so many reasons. From an architectural perspective, I love the juxtaposition of space The Emerson provides. The chapel feels very modern, yet timeless. Whereas the reception space feels very nostalgic and cozy. I felt like this was the perfect mix of styles to accomplish the overall feel of the styled shoot.”

What was one of your favorite parts of bringing the vision to life? “The incredible team of vendors I got to work with really made this crazy concept a reality and was definitely a favorite part! Everyone involved in the styled shoot was a team player and hype queen/king! Am I allowed to give another fav?? I think visually seeing it all together in real life gives you such a sense of It's really fun to see how vendors take the design board I create and bring it to real life....I mean some of the ideas I pitched were wild and this team of creatives really come together to create something so stunning.”
