If you’ve toured our space recently, then you probably have heard us talk about Yez + Blake’s wedding day. The photos will definitely speak for themselves, but their wedding was stunning + gave us all the timeless, minimalist vibes! The celebration of their love was so sweet.
“We met our senior year of high school at church and we were just friends for a few months. Although I (Yez) had my eyes on him, I decided it wasn’t smart to pursue anything because college was right around the corner. The summer after we graduated high school, we both went on a mission trip to New Orleans with our youth group and Blake fell in love with my heart for people. God transformed Blake’s heart to see me in a way he never had before. Something neither of us really expected! So after the mission trip, Blake took me on our first date to Torchy’s Tacos and we walked White Rock Lake where we talked for hours! We ended our date dancing in my living room and it was the sweetest thing! We dated for 3 years and it was FINALLY time to be married! God showed up immensely in every way and answered our prayers! We know it was always God working in our relationship!”
When we asked them what drew them to The Emerson, Y answered – “When looking for a venue, we knew we wanted something a little more modern! Farmhouses weren’t our thing! But when we stumbled on The Emerson we absolutely fell in love! The chapel, the little details everywhere, the character, the simplicity. It was everything we wanted, a vision in itself and soo much to dream up!”
“Our favorite part of our wedding day had to be our first look! It was so intimate and precious! Just to see each other before the ceremony and share our emotions and just hold each other. It calmed our nerves too! Our ceremony was the best as well!”
We know that planning a wedding can be really overwhelming. Yez encouraged any couples who are currently planning to just do what makes you happy! No matter how loving or well-intentioned other people’s opinions are, your wedding day is meant to celebrate YOU! And also, “remember to have fun and never leave your babe’s side, especially on the wedding day!”
