T + A
We had the honor of hosting this precious couple’s wedding earlier this summer. Taylor + Anthony’s wedding day was another one for the books. Their love for one another + the way that they have championed each other through the last 11 years is unmatched. It was so special watching them be surrounded + celebrated by their friends + family on that Saturday in May.
“Our love story started 11 years ago when we met at West Texas A&M in Canyon, TX. Anthony played football for them and wore #20 and I played soccer for them and wore #21 (I’ll tell you why I included those numbers). We went through a lot of ups and downs together over the last 11 years but Anthony always put God first which in turn drew me nearer to God and so finally after 9 years of dating, He asked me to marry him at WT’s homecoming in October 2019. I began searching for dates a year and a half to two years out in May or June and low and behold I found May 15, 2021 (May 15 is the actual day we celebrate our dating anniversary and 2021 (our college sports numbers) it was meant to be (haha I’m crazy like that).”
“The Emerson is an absolute dream!!! I think what drew me to the venue is the minimal simplicity of it all. I love the black and white aesthetic because that’s what I wanted for our wedding – just a clean slate to do what we wanted. I think Anthony really liked the grooms cabin. This was the third venue we had looked at and this was the only one that his face lit up at. He was dancing around with me while touring. 🙂 The chapel was also stunnning and just gave that minimal canvas to ensure all eyes would be on us only. I am also a huge fan of natural lighting pictures and your venue has alllll the spaces for natural light, from the house, to the bridal suite, to the chapel.”
We absolutely love hearing about the most memorable moments from our couples’ wedding days! The answer we get the most often is the first look. It’s such a sweet opportunity to share a moment one on one with your babe. For T + A, it was no different! “My favorite parts of our wedding day were our first look pictures together and then after the ceremony when we went back to the grooms cabin just us two to eat dinner together and soak in the moment of what just happened in the chapel.”
T encouraged all those who are planning now to really soak in every second because the wedding day flies by way too fast! She also advised brides to create a shot list of photos that you want captured + share it with your photographer. If you ever need help coming up with ideas for your shot list, we would love to help! You can email us at hey@emersonvenue.com.
Congratulations again T + A! Thank you so much for choosing to have such a special day at The Emerson! We LOVED being a part of such a sweet, sweet celebration. We hope that marriage has been amazing! We are continually rooting for you guys! T had so many kind things to say about all of her vendors, so be sure to check them out below! A special thank you goes to Meshali for capturing these precious photos that we get to hold onto forever!
