M + N
One of our absolute favorite parts of what we do is watching our couples come in + make the space their own. We love seeing the ways that the details, decor, and color palette encapsulate who our couples are + the way that they love one another. Madison + Nick’s wedding day was such a warm, beautiful reflection of the sweetness of their relationship. The space felt like them.
Here’s their story from both M + N’s points of view –
“I knew of Madison through our church and mutual friend groups but never had an interaction with her until about two and a half years ago. My best friend, Jon, and his now wife, Erika, and Madison’s best friend Alyssa, invited us out. Madison never let me even buy her a drink that night cause she didnt want it to be a date! I eventually bought her one and she still has the cup to prove it. After that I asked her out on a date and we’ve been dating ever since.” -N “When I moved to Denton, I started going to a church where I got very involved in and made most of my close friends to this day! I actually always knew who Nick was but was never in a position to get to know him. I was working on a social media campaign for our college team where I needed to take photos of people who would represent the church well and have inspiring stories. I asked around to see what guys I could take photos of and everyone I talked to recommended Nick Perez!! I took their recommendation and met him to take a photo. He made me smile and laugh and I saw why everyone liked him so much. Not long after a mutual friend of ours set up a triple date for us to both be on. And we never stopped going on dates since. :)” -M
We were emotional reading through what drew M + N to The Emerson for their BEST DAY EVER. It’s truly all that we hope that people would feel as they walk through our space + host such a special celebration within our walls – “I think The Emerson had everything we were looking for and felt like the best representation of us as a couple and our love. The atmosphere when we toured the Emerson was fun, inviting, and personal. Those same characteristics all reflected in our ceremony and reception. The space allowed for our families and friends to blend and mingle. Watching the kids in our families playing in the open field together and seeing our families and friends interacting in all the different spaces was everything we were wanting in a venue.” -N “We were patient to wait for the right venue. We went on many tours and thought through all our different options. But from the start of our search the Emerson was always our number 1. The staff was our favorite part. Our questions were always answered quickly. There was always a sense of honesty and integrity with everyone we talked to. There was no veneer, just truly a beautiful venue.” -M
Wedding days are full to the brim of precious moments. It’s always so fun for us to hear which ones stuck out to our couples – “One of the best moments for me was getting down the aisle and exiting the chapel. We were able to finally take a breath and celebrate with Madison and our bridal party – our closest people. Dancing and celebrating that night with everybody that we love was refreshing after working hard to get to that night. Getting to see the the fruit of the labor in that moment was great and unforgettable. Watching the coming together of our lives out of the love Madison and I have for eachother and the grace of God is what makes that day so special and was a perfect start of our future together.” -N
“So many favorite parts! How to pick! I had toured the chapel many times. We even practiced walking to the exact song. But walking in to a room FULL of all of the people who love us was overwhelming and beautiful. One of the sweetest parts was when we exited the ceremony our bridal party was all standing around cheering. I love those photos because it’s everyone’s honest reactions. It was so sweet and such a relief to celebrate with all of our people after all the hard work going into our relationship and the wedding.” -M
M’s advice to all those who are planning now is SO valuable! Let these tips guide you, especially if you are doing a lot of DIY planning or decor. “Nick and I planned the whole day ourselves. It was an incredibly overwhelming task but I would do it again! I read every blog out there, asked all my married friends a million questions, and over analyzed every wedding I ever went to. I have a ton I could say but a few things really stood out to me. Overall – I would say to stop worrying about the wedding industry trends and what all the other brides are doing! Do whatever is best for you and your partner. For us, we applied this to everything – to colors, flowers, food, ceremony, timeline – you name it!! Looking back, I’m really thankful that our wedding reflects me and Nick! Before you make a decision, pick a vendor or buy something that will be involved in the big day, ask yourself if it reflects you and your partner! I spent more time thinking through the timeline and logistics more than anything! And I’m thankful I spent my time there. It mattered to me that my guests had a good time, that the night was cohesive and flowed well. Another thing that helped me was planning not only the wedding day, but planning the days, weeks and months leading up to it! It was helpful for me to have clear deadlines, to do lists, and bags packed! By the time I got to wedding week, the natural stress of the wedding was a big enough task to deal with!! I’m thankful that I had prepped a lot in advance beforehand. Lastly, rely on the people around you! During the last month of wedding planning my roomate helped me keep my sanity by doing so many crafts and listening to all my daily feelings! The people around you care about your wedding too and would love to help take burden off of you! Let them!”
Congratulations again, M + N! You two are quite possibly the cutest couple ever. Thank you for choosing us + allowing us to be apart of this precious day.
