K + R
Meet Kayla + Rere! Their fall wedding was full to the brim of warm accents, dreamy floral installs, and lots of family + friends eager to celebrate them! We loved getting to be a part of their big day!
Here’s their story – “When I (Kayla) moved back to Dallas I saw a post on IG with a picture of coffee and bagels — and as the iced coffee connoisseur I pretend to be, I was intrigued! When I clicked the sponsored post, it took me to the app store to download an app, and without question, I downloaded Coffee Meets Bagels – fully thinking it was about local DFW coffee shops. To my surprise, it was a dating app!! I had never online dated before so I thought “Why not?!” And I’m SO glad that I did because just a few short weeks later, I matched with my now-husband, Rere. From the moment we matched, I just knew in my gut that something was different with him. We eventually met up for our first date, and we stayed at the restaurant for FIVE HOURS just sitting and talking! We couldn’t get enough of each other. We both immediately felt a peace that we can only explain was from God. We know He made each of us for the other and we’re so thankful for that gimmicky app because it brought the two of us together!”
“Early on in the wedding planning process, we knew that we wanted to get married somewhere that was unique but also timeless, and big enough to house both of our families. Once we toured the Emerson, we instantly knew that this was the place we were meant to be married. The layout of the venue, the vibe of the space, and the intentional details that the ladies at the Emerson have curated were all of the pieces we were looking for! We’re so glad that we chose the Emerson as our wedding venue because it helped play a big part in our big day!”
Wedding days fly by so, so fast + are full of sweet moments! One of our favorite questions to ask couples after their wedding day has passed is what moments were the most memorable for them – “We both feel like our wedding day flew by so fast! But by far the moments Rere and I still talk about the most are our first look and our ceremony. Our first look was really special to us because we chose to do a private reading of our vows before the ceremony! Carving out this intentional time with your partner to see each other, laugh, cry, and to get rid of the nerves really helped the two of us. We also really loved our ceremony, being in that warm lit room with all of our favorite people becoming one under God is something we will never forget!”
We loved K + R’s advice for all those who are planning now! “Don’t lose sight of the reason why you’re doing this! It’s easy to get caught up in the details of the napkin colors, floral arrangements, or the theme of your bachelorette party – and while all of those things are lovely, the reason you’re going through all of this stress is to become one with your partner. As someone whose wedding has come and gone, not one of our guests has mentioned to me how they liked the decor of the wedding – what they all mention is the love and excitement Rere and I had for each other, and that’s what really matters! I promise the stress will eventually go away, and you’ll be left with your partner by your side as you binge-watch your favorite shows on the couch smiling because it will all have been worth it!”
Congratulations again, K +R! Your BEST DAY EVER was so stinking special + we’re so grateful that we got to be a part of it. Thank you for choosing E! Another special thank you goes to the awesome vendors who executed all the details! Check them out below!
