D + A
Meet Danielle + Adrian! This insanely sweet couple got married at E this past Spring. They are as kind as it gets. They are dreamers + fearless go-getters, and we loved hosting their wedding day in our space!
Here’s their story – “Adrian and I met when we were in 8th grade. Our connection started on MySpace and we began dating on and off since we were about fifteen years old. After our high school graduation, we started dating intentionally and began going to church together. When we grew closer to God, our bond became stronger, and we fell more in love with each other daily. When we were nineteen, we moved to Dallas with my family and after only two years, we were called to Lubbock, Texas to finish college and for Adrian’s career. We graduated from Texas Tech University together, got engaged in Seattle, Washington, and we decided that we wanted to go on another adventure. We love to travel together and we’ve learned that being together, with our two dogs, is all we need to make anywhere feel like home. So without prior visits or experience, we packed up and moved to Alexandria, Virginia. We’d never lived on the east coast before but we felt brave and adventurous. We’ve been together (officially) for seven years, and we’re so blessed and honored to be married now. Every day, we have new ideas on where we want to live, what we want to accomplish, and how we can take over the world. Our story is one of faith, adventure, patience, grace, and sweet, sweet love.”
“We’re truly minimalists and both of us are very fashion-forward. When we pictured our wedding, we originally thought of a scenic elopement, maybe a destination wedding. I pictured my wedding dress as a short, non-traditional, vintage designer dress and a beautiful dinner table with a few of our closest family members. After looking on Pinterest to put together our wedding moodboard, I found Coral Lane’s profile. After swooning over a few event rentals, I went to their blog to see what venues they styled in Dallas. Then, I found it. The dream venue I never knew existed. Suddenly, my elopement idea, the short dress, the destination, all of it… went out the door. A few pictures of The Emerson and I knew it was the place that I would marry Adrian at. The minimalist design, the blank slate for decorations, the scenery, the bridal suite, I could just picture my wedding there and so I booked a flight into Dallas to see it with my own eyes. On one visit, my family and I were sold. The Emerson is a true treasure and all of my guests felt so comfortable and relaxed on my big day. I found a beautiful wedding dress that would WOW my groom as I walked down the aisle in the chapel and it was a true fairytale moment. And because we got married in Texas, more of our family and friends were able to celebrate with us on our special day. I was able to really combine my vision of having a minimalist wedding with a touch of extravagance. This dream wedding could’ve only been pulled off at The Emerson, with The Emerson Staff, and with my fabulous vendors. I still pinch myself because of how dreamy my wedding was.”
“Two of my favorite moments on my wedding day were saying our vows and sneaking away to take photos in the field. Our officiant had the sweetest wedding sermon prepared for us and I felt like I was floating on clouds just listening to the word of God and feeling excited to be a wife. He made our day so very special and we’re forever grateful for him. I also loved that our photographer pulled us away during our dinner reception to take sunset photos in the field. It allowed Adrian and I to spend intimate time with one another and to soak in the beauty of our wedding day. OH! And our sparkler send-off was a total dream.”
If you’re in the market for some incredible wedding planning advice, tune into what D’s encouragement is for all those planning now! “Spend time looking for the perfect vendors. It’s not all about WHAT they do, it’s about HOW they do it. I swear, I hit the lottery when it came to finding my vendors. Without the help of my day-of-wedding coordinator, my photographer, and even my cake baker, I couldn’t have made the wedding magic happen. They added an extra level of love, care, and attention to everything, and I felt so taken care of that day.” Vendors are SO important for ensuring that all of the details you’ve been dreaming up for months (or years) get executed well! We have a list of stellar vendors who have all worked in our space and do an incredible job – we would love to send it to you!
Congratulations again, D + A! Thank you so much for choosing The Emerson to host such a special day! We absolutely loved being a part of this celebration of your love. We hope that marriage has been so sweet! We wish you a lifetime of happiness as you continue to chase all of your big dreams!
