Meet Brittany + Joe! Whether you’ve been following along with The Emerson for years or you’re brand new around here, you’ve probably picked up on our love for the color pink! B + J’s wedding was a total dream day that was filled with the most fun pink details! Pink florals, pink balloons, pink accent chairs… they thought of it all!
Here’s their story - “Our love story started over 9 years ago when we met at work. We both knew we felt something for each-other but it was never brought to surface. Nearly 5 years later I returned home from college to work for the summer. Joe was on his way to work one morning and happened to stop by my job. The next couple mornings, Joe popped by just to see me and finally asked me on a date. Since then we have been inseparable. We spent all summer together and even ran off for a week together to New Mexico after only dating a little over a month. What seemed crazy at the time ended up being the beginning of our love story. In Fall 2018 a new job opportunity arose in Tennessee for Joe, so we agreed to try long distance. After a year and a half of long distance, and many plane flights, I moved out to Tennessee to be with Joe. Since then we have spent time together doing what we love, traveling, and exploring our new lives together. On January 2, 2021 Joe asked me to be his wife. We are both super excited to get married and start our new adventure together!”
We still pinch ourselves often that we get to be a part of such a special day in our couples’ lives! We love to hear about what drew them to choosing our venue! B said, “my grandmother has lived down the road from the Emerson for many years. Since the beginning, when the venue was bought and remodeled I had always imagined getting married at The Emerson. The simple elegance screams romance. I knew when I met the man of my dreams I would get married here. Joe and I toured many venues in both Texas and Tennessee but none compared to The Emerson in my mind. I was always drawn back to it!”
Not gonna lie, we got a little teary-eyed reading through B + J’s favorite moment from their wedding day! (which btw, is hands down one of our favorite questions to ask our couples after their BEST DAY EVER!) “Our favorite part of our wedding day has to be the moment we walked out of the chapel after getting married. We were overcome with all the emotions of the day and the fact that we just became husband and wife. We had been waiting for this moment for so long. Looking back at this moment I crumble into a million pieces. That moment was just ours and it couldn’t have been more special. If you look through our photos you can see us bawling in each others arms. It was so sweet! Some other moments that we loved was our first dance, speeches and dancing together on the dance floor! We could not have been happier with our day! It was perfect!”
It’s crazy that within all the months + months leading up to your wedding day, there is so much anticipation + just wishing that your big day would just be here already! Then before you know it, it’s here + it truly does go by so fast. We loved B’s advice to really soak in every moment throughout the process! “Our advice to future Emerson couples planning now is just to soak it all in. Take in all these moments leading to the big day. The day of goes by so fast, so take in all the big moments throughout the day. This is a huge part of your love story.”
Congratulations again to The Stiers! Your wedding day was so beautiful and we just feel the most grateful that we got to be a part of celebrating your love! A big thank you goes to every single vendor who executed all the magical details - from the place settings, to the balloon installations, to the beautiful florals, to hair + makeup, to making sure that everyone was staying on track with the timeline… the day wouldn't have been able to happen without each of you doing your part! We can’t say enough how important a good vendor team is! B had so many kind things to say about her talented group of vendors, including our girl, Tayler Gray - “She immediately reached out and scheduled a phone call. I felt that she cared about her clients and that she was very organized. She was always available to answer my questions and be a friend when I needed it. We both 100% could not have had the wedding day we did without her! Kaylee Embrey did an amazing job on all of our hair and made me feel so loved on our wedding day. I have known her since I was 16 but I couldn’t have imagined a better person for our day! Also Marissa with Lilies and Co! This girl is sooo sweet and did such an amazing day on all our florals. Not only is she professional but she also treats you like a friend which was a huge part of why we booked her! I highly recommend her!” Be sure to check out the whole team!
