Ariel + Clayton’s early summer wedding was like walking through a pampas-filled wonderland! It was such a dream getting to host this beautiful couple’s BEST DAY EVER in our space. Their vendor team was stacked with so much talent. We loved watching all of A + C’s details come to life throughout the day!
Here’s their story – “Clayton & I worked at the same company and had some mutual friends/coworkers of ours that wanted to set us up so they would have another couple to double date with. I was not open to the idea initially because I had just graduated college and had only been at my new “big girl” job for one month at this point. So I didn’t want to screw it up by dating someone in my office right off the bat. I also think I had sworn off boys at that moment in my life after a previous dysfunctional relationship. None the less – our friends were adamant on getting us together. After I dodged a few initial invitations to go on a date with Clayton, my friends started getting us together in group settings. Basically how it went was they would tell me a group of them were at some place and tell me everyone who was with them, but leave out Clayton’s name (his friend did the same to him) until eventually we ran into another so much we had to get to know another. I was pretty drawn to him from the moment after our first conversation. I remember making direct eye contact with him as we spoke and a shock went through my body – love at first sight kind of feeling, but I buried it down and ignored it thinking nothing would come of it. After getting to know one another, his heart for The Lord, and our MANY relational ties to one another further supported this may be something special.”
There are so many fabulous wedding venues across the DFW Metroplex, so we feel so grateful + honored whenever a couple chooses us to host such a special day. We love hearing what drew our couples to choosing us – “The clean layout of the venue. I love that our family and friends had the whole property to be able to sprawl out on. The chapel is absolutely breath taking and it was important to us to be married in a church. The venue is so breath taking and there’s so much creativity that comes to mind with the Emerson. So much freedom to create, cultivate and explore with. The fact that we also have 100% creative freedom with floor plans, decor and vendors really was the cherry on top for us.”
A said her most memorable moment from their wedding day was whenever she was wiping away C’s tears right after they exited the chapel from their ceremony. They were finally husband + wife and getting to spend a moment just to themselves. We’re so grateful that Dayna captured such an intimate, sweet moment!
We loved A’s advice to all those who are planning now. She really encourages brides to not spend time worrying about the all small details. “Your big day goes by SO fast and the little details you may be worrying about now won’t matter nor will anyone be able to tell what it “was supposed to be/look like.” Also, make sure you pee before you put your dress on and at least once before you make your grand exit. (I didn’t and it didn’t hit me until we got in the car and had to drive 45 minutes to our hotel after a night of drinking!!!) Give this task to tour MOH or mom to remind you!” The last bit of her advice was so practical + helpful. It’s so easy to get swept away in the sweet celebration happening around you, that you may forget this little detail. 🙂
