Modern Spring Styled Shoot

Springtime shoots and weddings are always a favorite at The Emerson because that means we get to see lots of COLOR!!! Kendyl Martin from Everything Bridal Events came to us with such a stunning, pastel-filled vision for a styled shoot at our space and we obviously couldn’t pass up the opportunity! She was so kind to carve out some time to share with us some of her hopes + inspiration for the shoot.

The inspiration for the shoot: “I think as a Wedding Planner during 2022 I was on the look out on what I thought would be super trendy for 2023 and I wanted to bring some inspiration to my clients. One thing that I see more and more couples leaning into is color which I know the wedding community is so excited to be seeing because it gives so much more opportunity for creativity and unique wedding designs.”

What was one of your favorite parts of bringing this vision to life? “One of my favorite parts of this shoot was seeing the designs go from paper to coming to life at The Emerson. Also, it is so fun to get to do more “out of the box” ideas for Styled Shoots to create inspiration for future couples.”

What drew you to choosing The Emerson for your styled shoot? “I had worked at The Emerson a hand full of times before and once I drew up my mood board for this shoot, I knew The Emerson would be the perfect backdrop for this shoot because it is modern, cozy, and a perfect blank slate. Also, I knew that The Emerson has some amazing rentals in-house that I knew I wanted to take advantage of and use anywhere I could. “

Any tips for other vendors hoping to host a content day or shoot? “It can super over whelming when you are planning a Styled Shoot, whether you have done it before or not. I would recommend reaching out to vendors that you work with often. This will ease your mind that they will do great work for you because you have seen them in action before. Also, if you are new to the industry, make sure to reach out to a photographer you love and ask if they would take some photos of you behind the scenes so that you have some content for yourself as well.”
