Meet Haley + Matthew! Their summer wedding was bright + full of the happiest, most fun, thoughtful details! H is actually a wedding photographer, so it was such a fun time watching her vision + creativity on display throughout their BEST DAY EVER! You can check out her photography business here.
Here’s their story – “Matthew and I met on Tinder in 2015. We both swiped right! He proposed on South Padre Island in December of 2019 with a professional sandcastle that said “Haley will you marry me?”. I have been a professional wedding photographer for 7.5 years and wanted a small wedding, full of fun details. Matthew was a trooper through all of my wedding planning. We enjoy going to stand up comedy shows. traveling together, spending time with family, and eating lots of Mexican food.”
“We chose The Emerson as our venue because I desired a clean white backdrop for my photos in a modern setting, but most of the modern venues in the Dallas area I researched were in urban settings that didn’t offer a lot of options for outdoor photos. I also needed an indoor ceremony space that didn’t feel dark, since July in Texas is not ideal for anything outside. The Emerson was a modern dream in a rural setting for all my wedding photography needs.”
Wedding days are full to the brim of surreal, precious moments. Here is one of the moments that meant the most to H – “Walking down the aisle and seeing all the work I put into our special day come together was amazing. I didn’t see any of our guests in that moment, I was completely focused on my groom and will really treasure that moment forever.”
A piece of advice that we get over and over again from our couples is to really focus on making your wedding day feel like YOU! Here’s what H had to say – “Focus on what means the most to you! Everyone has an opinion when you are planning your wedding. It is YOUR day and it should be celebrated exactly like you envision. Also, don’t skimp on your photography budget, because the photos are what you get to keep to commemorate all the wonderful memories.”
